WRITESTARS’ NEW WRITING COMPETITIONS

Summer Write – Prize £250. In up to 1,000 words, send us a short story in any genre. Must be set in summer – blue skies, gentle breezes, adventure, love, fantasy – anything you want to write about, we’d love to read. To mark Helen M Hunt’s short-story masterclass in Manchester on 20 September. Deadline is midnight on 20 September, so you have all summer to write!

To mark Isabelle Goddard’s WriteStars workshop ‘Past Perfect’, on writing the perfect historical novel, in Brighton at the Old Ship Hotel on 15 June. In up to 300 words, write the start of a story and make us really want to know what happens next. Must feature Brighton. Closing date: Midnight, 15 June. PRIZE £100.

In up to 300 words, write the start of a story and make us really want to know what happens next. Must feature Cambridge. Closing date for the competition: Midnight, 12 July. PRIZE £100.
